Dressed
When wood is dressed, it does not mean that it is sporting the latest fashions from New York or Paris. What this means,
is that the wood has gone through a process of planing, so that there are fewer or no rough sides. A dressed beam is
usually what you see when a heavy wooden beam is visible. It is more pleasing to the eye, and is more appropriate to
some applications than a more rustic looking unplaned beam.
