Greenboard
Greenboard is another sort of wallboard, similar to drywall or
blueboard. It looks similar, cuts as easily, and can be
trimmed about as easily as the other two. What sets it apart is its resistance to moisture.
Green board, also called M-R board, is the next step above
blueboard in moisture resistance. While it is not vitally important to have that extra
protection, there are many areas where it is a good idea to use greenboard. In particular, areas
that generally have a high amount of moisture in the air, such as wet basements or bathrooms, are
good candidates for greenboard.
Greenboard will take plaster or paint without any problem. It still needs to have something
done about the joints between sheets, just like its sibilngs.
We only stock greenboard in 1/2" thick sheets 4' x 8' in size.
