FJP
PFJ is a short-hand way of describing fingerjointed preprimed wood. It is more often
than not a less expensive product, and preferred by some builders because it helps to save some work on the jobsite. By
already having a coat of primer on it, the wood is ready for a topcoat as soon as it is installed. It is not possible or
advisable to use a semi-transparent stain on PFJ wood, as the stain will not penetrate the primer coat. It is only viable
when used for a project that will be painted.
