Stick Built
Stick built refers to a style of construction. It is a more traditional style, and
one that can be seen as more labor intensive, but it also allows for a greater range
of flexibility and design. What it means is that the project is built with individual
pieces of timber that are fastened together properly. There are no modular pieces used.
The other option is to use prefabricated sections, such as trusses.
Trusses allow for faster construction, though at a somewhat higher materials cost. Stick
built homes generally have a lower cost in materials, but a higher cost in labor.
