A-extra shingles are the top grade of White Cedar shingles that we stock. They are essentially a
knot-free shingle, similar in quality to the Squared and Rebutted shingles.
The main difference is that A-extras are a White cedar rather than red.
This means the coloring of the wood is markedly different. The grade of the shingle means that the entire shingle is virtually knot-free from top to bottom. This sounds simple, but the B-Clear shingles are graded based upon the wood that is visible after installation. There may be some slight imperfections, but they shouldn't detract from the overall effect of the clean look of the siding. Coverage:Four bundles of A-extra shingles will cover 100 square feet if you allow for 5"-6" exposure to the weather for each shake. |
