White Cedar B-Clear Shingles

White cedar shingles are so called because the species of cedar has a more bleached look to it before it is treated in any
way. The B-Clear description refers to a grading system of the cedar, so that the purchaser may have an idea of what
to expect in the way of relative quality of materials.
B clear grade shingles allow for more numberous characteristics and imperfections than an A grade single. There is also
a very good chance that the shingles themselves will need to be trimmed so as to fit together well and form a nice
straight line. This just means that there are going to be some visible knots from time to time, but the end effect
will be one that is possessed of some character.
Approximately four bundles of shingles will cover 100 square feet, assuming that you are working with an exposure of around
5 inches. With greater exposure, the coverage increases and the thickness of the layers is thinner, and with less
exposure the coverage drops and the thickness of siding increases.
