Cement siding is rapidly proving to be a highly desirable option for siding in the Northeast . It is more weather resistant than
its natural material counterparts, and is less expensive as well. It is available in several styles, and in some cases with an optional wood grain texture. The two basic styles available are horizontal and vertical. The horizontal siding bears a strong resemblance to the more traditional clapboard siding. The vertical style assembles in a similar way, though running up the wall rather than across it. There are a few minor items necessary for installation. Among them is a 4 tooth circular saw blade, with either carbide or diamond tipped teeth. The teeth need the extra hardness in order to withstand more than a few cuts through the cement. There are other sorts of tools available to work the cement siding, but only someone who installs large quantities of these products really needs anything more than the circular saw blade. |
