Clear Vertical Grain Siding, also known as CVG, is a premium wood siding product. Its main feature is the tight, parallel grain to the wood, as seen here. This nice, tight grain requires special processes, and so is more expensive. This expense can be well worth it, though, since it does make the siding more stable, and also can add a lot to the look of your home.

Since the clapboard is cedar, it also has some natural protection against the weather, and readily accepts stain and paint. These clapboards are what have been used for decades on the sides of homes.
